The House of deGournay

I have admired the breathtaking, hand-painted wallpapers of British company, deGournay for as long as I can remember. Hannah Cecil Gurney, the daughter of founder, Claud Cecil Gurney has become the face of the company along with her sister Rachel, with whom she once shared this charming two bedroom flat housed in a former Georgian townhouse in London.  She now shares the house with her husband, Eddie Harden and their darling baby boy, George who will soon become a big brother to twin siblings.

Hannah’s charming home is currently featured in the new, October issue of Architectural Digest which is giving us an in-depth look at this marvelous home. Between the dazzling array of hand-painted wallpapers, kilim rugs, and European antiques, this home is a design-lovers dream. It has served as Hannah’s experiment lab, as well it should considering the family business produces some of the most exquisite wallpapers, textiles, and hand-carved mirrors in the world. All of the rooms are fabulous and feature newer designs that aren’t yet super-recognizable. Which room is your favorite?
