Hello LDV readers! It’s Karima from A Note on Style. Today, I’m sharing my September moodboard with a few items on my radar this month that will carry me through fall and beyond. The six pieces above don’t steer too far away from the classics I already own, however, a tweaked subtle detail or fresh color is enough to provide an update.
From a flared jean to a square-toe boot, the items above will inject a sense of newness to my wardrobe. I’m looking forward to styling the jeans with 70s French chic in my mind as inspiration. I think the silhouette works best with a shoe that elongates so I’d pair with a low chunky heeled loafer or boot. If I had to choose one shoe to invest in now, it would undoubtedly feature a square toe. Designers have embraced the shape in the form of pumps, loafers, sandals, and boots. I like them all.
Pieces in cognac and ivory are the heroes of the season bringing a modern note to anything they grace. I’ve got my eye on an ivory classic pea coat and a Bottega Veneta bag which will certainly provide long term styling options. If warm weather is an issue, which is likely here in Southern California, an oversized blazer is an easy replacement for the coat. I’m making an attempt to swap out my go-to black shoes and accessories for styles in cognac leather. The rich color is a gamechanger in updating every look.
A pair of oval framed Celine sunglasses complement all of these pieces and provide a subtle retro-vibe. I love their simplicity. And lastly, I’m having a hard time resisting this Wedgewood blue cameo bring by Ferian. Special and unique, it adds the perfect finishing touch.
