A Chic French Country House

I have France on the brain because we are heading there again on another buying trip tomorrow! I can hardly wait as I am a major Francophile and love just about everything regarding French culture– the architecture, history, fashion, the furniture, the food, all of it really. I suppose we are always drawn to things and places that are different from our own reality. Living in a city as “young” as Houston, it is always a treat to see the beautiful, centuries old buildings in Europe. Naturally, being on this wavelength, I went down a rabbit hole of French houses the other day and of course, I came across Chris Burch’s stunning 1608 hotel particulier in the process. According to Architectural Digest who recently featured the home on its cover, Burch originally set out to find a pied-a-terre in Paris, but the search eventually led him to this stunning mansion outside the city. Designed by Marco Scarani, the house honors the past, yet feels completely timeless. La vie est vraiment belle, non?
