An American Creative’s Parisian Pied-a-Terre

David Jimenez is an arbiter of style who first came onto my radar in my early days of blogging over ten years ago when his home was featured in House Beautiful. I was instantly drawn to his polished, tailored, and elegant American aesthetic and rightfully so. David has held important roles at Pottery Barn, Restoration Hardware, Williams Sonoma, and Williams Sonoma Home, so whether I realized it at the time or not, he played an intrinsic role in developing the visual DNA of these well-known American brands. I know that David eventually left San Francisco for a post at Kansas City-based Hallmark, but I hadn’t heard anything about him in a while since he isn’t on Instagram, so imagine my surprise when I came across his latest home in the May issue of Traditional Home.

For the past ten years, David, who has made his way to Paris every summer to celebrate his birthday, found it increasingly difficult to head back home each time. I can completely relate as I absolutely love Paris! Eventually, he decided to take a leap accepting a job in Paris and making his home in the city of Lights. With fourteen-foot ceilings, original plaster moldings, and stunning herringbone oak floors, the apartment itself is what dreams are made of. With David’s mix of furniture and art, it is layered, personal, and completely chic.
