Loulou: The Chicest Restaurant in Paris

I am a creature of habit down to my core. Although I do enjoy trying new places and things, I also love going back to my tried and true favorites. Anytime I am in Paris, dinner at Loulou is a must. The food is absolutely divine and the decor is just as delicious. Located at the Musee des Arts Decoratifs at the Louvre, the Uber-chic Loulou was designed by Joseph Dirand, one of the most talented designers in Paris. The color palette of black, white, and rust is ultra-sophisticated. The selection of materials includes all of my favorite design elements: lacquer, caning, plaster, gilding, and sumptuous velvet. It makes me so happy every time I visit as the design truly resonates with me. It also doesn’t hurt that they have the most phenomenal burrata I have ever had. Every time Fabian and I go, we order it. This time, Devon and I started our meal with it and it was the best iteration yet, served with the most incredible tomatoes. Let’s take a tour, shall we?

{In the main dining room on the first floor, you see the sumptuous velvet banquettes and the beautiful mix of caning, ebonized wood, and plaster.}

{How incredible is the marble flooring? I love super veiny marble like this. The more it mimics a good Roquefort cheese, the better in my eyes.}

{The upstairs dining room features the same furniture along with plaster chandeliers and panels inset with a stunning landscape. On our visit last weekend, the carpet had been updated with a chic leopard pattern.}

  1. the chairs kill it fr me…takes away from the elegance it portends to. DONE get me wrong love them, even had a set of them in a dining alcove …but doesnt work for me in this setting.
    But will check out loulou’s next time!

  2. This is one of my favorite places in paris! not only is the design beautiful, and we always sit on the outdoor patio (oh so chic!), but the food is excellent!
