Classic Sag Harbor Style

It’s been warm in Houston this week–thank goodness! I can’t wait for winter to be over. Between pining for warmer weather and seeing the latest cover of House & Garden which features one of my favorite Sag Harbor projects by David Kleinberg which was previously featured in Hamptons Cottages and Gardens a few years ago, I am in the spirit for warm weather and longer days. I love a classic, old house and this 1840s Egyptian Revival in Sag Harbor recently featured in Hamptons Cottages and Gardens is no exception. The home owner, Shaun Woodward, a former British politician, the lure of restoring an old house on Long Island was irresistible given his appreciation for architectural beauty. Woodward enlisted architect, Martin Sosa of the Manhattan firm, Arcologica along with interior designer, David Kleinberg to restore the former sea captain’s house and transform it into a chic, masculine abode. A cool, cohesive palette of various blue hues can be found in the main house as well as in the guest house, while the furnishings lend a masculine, modern slant to the otherwise traditional house. The entire house is chic and beautiful, but my favorite spaces are the kitchen, master bedroom, and the bathrooms.
