I am legitimately addicted to books and have always been fascinated by them. Needless to say, it is absolutely surreal to know that in a few short weeks, on September 4th, my own book, Dream Design Live, will officially be released. The thing about addictions is that you always want more, so I am always fascinated to learn which new books are being released that season and it seems that I order a never-ending stream of books online all year round. Luckily, I have plenty of shelves and surfaces in my house to cover with books! This fall promises to be quite fruitful in terms of inspiring new books in the design, fashion, and entertaining categories. I am planning to order so many wonderful new titles including a slew of gorgeous, new design books. There are so many titles that will be released this fall that I cannot wait to get my hands on! What will you be reading this fall?
Dream Design Live by Paloma Contreras: I would be remiss not to include my own book in this round-up as it is definitely the book I am most looking forward to and with good reason. It is filled with never-before-seen images of over a dozen projects that I haven’t been able to share with you until now! Dream Design Live represents two years of hard work designing my clients’ homes, writing the manuscript, and producing the photo shoots. This 240-page treasure trove is a testament to my passion for inspiring interiors that celebrate the meaningful moments of everyday life. It will be released on September 4th, but you can pre-order it now!
A Point of View: On Decorating by Veere Grenney: Veere Grenney is among my favorite interior designers. His work is classic and elegant, yet it retains a modern quality that gives it the simultaneous feeling of being completely timeless, yet also fresh. I am so looking forward to this inspiring designer’s first book. This book will be released on September 18th.
Sophisticated Simplicity by Suzanne Kasler: Suzanne Kasler has been a big source of inspiration for me since the beginning of my career in design and from the early days of blogging. Her feminine, French-influenced aesthetic resonates deeply with me as a fellow Francophile. I also find that everything Suzanne does, whether it is designing a home, expanding her brand into new product categories, or interacting with friends and colleagues, it is all done with grace and style. Suzanne’s book will be released on September 11th.
Inspired Design: The 100 Most Important Interior Designers of the Past 100 Years by Jennifer Boles: I have known Jennifer Boles for many years as we started writing our blogs around the same time. I loved her first book and could not be more excited to read her second, which I am sure will be incredibly inspiring. Everyone in the design world draws inspiration from the past as well as from the designers of eras gone by, whether they admit it or not, so having a book that shares all of that amazing inspiration in one place is sure to be a must-read. In fact, I plan to make this required reading in my office! This title will be released on October 2nd.
The Gardens of Bunny Mellon by Linda Holden: While we are on the topic of style icons from the past, this book, about the beautiful gardens of the legendary Bunny Mellon is sure to be stunning. I wish I had just a fraction of Bunny’s talent for gardening. Her myrtle topiary collection is a huge inspiration and while I’d love to emulate it, it seems the Texas heat can prove too hostile for this delicate species. Oh well! I can admire Bunny’s myrtles and her beautiful gardens in this lovely tome which will be released on October 30th.
Perspective by Steven Gambrel: Steven Gambrel is one of my top favorite interior designers. He has an unmistakeable point of view, right down to a very specific color palette and mix of materials. I admire his discipline for working with in his own specific vernacular and sticking to it in a way that is instantly recognizable, but that always feels fresh and exciting. Steven’s book will be released on October 9th.
Design & Style: A Constant Thread by Carolyne Roehm: Carolyne is the ultimate authority in chic and considered living. I have all of her books, each of which is beautiful, and look forward to adding her latest design tome to my collection. It will be released on September 25th.
Island Hopping by Amanda Lindroth: Amanda Lindroth is the definitive source for inspiring island style. Her signature aesthetic is equally at home in the Bahamas as it is in Palm Beach. It’s easy to see why her work is beloved– it is chic, cheerful, and evokes a sense of escape! Amanda’s book is due out on September 25th.
The Curated Home: A Fresh Take on Tradition by Grant K. Gibson: I am so excited for my good friend, Grant K. Gibson’s book! Grant is a super talented designer in San Francisco, who is able to execute a variety of design styles. I have seen a sneak peek of his book and it is so beautiful. Grant’s book will hit shelves on August 14th.
Interiors by Ryan Korban: Ryan Korban has been a designer to watch since his tiny New York apartment was featured in Domino nearly ten years ago. His refined aesthetic and signature aesthetic have garnered clients including Alexander Wang, Balenciaga, and Altuzzara, along with write-ups in every major publication including Vogue and Architectural Digest. Ryan’s book is due out on September 18th.
