Happy Friday! It’s been yet another whirlwind week, but there have been a lot of exciting developments on the work front. If you follow me on Instagram, then you know that I received the first advance copies of my book! It was such an exciting moment to open the package and see the fruits of two years of work come together in such a beautiful package. The final product far exceeds anything I could have imagined and I cannot wait for you to see it! You can pre-order your copy of Dream Design Live here in order to have it when it comes out on September 4th! This week, we also welcomed a new team member who will be spearheading our internal marketing efforts, which is super exciting. In addition, we have been working on securing a new office space and have begun working on the plans for a brand extension I am super excited about. There are a lot of great things in the works that I look forward to sharing with you as they come to fruition. This weekend should likely be pretty low-key. Fabian has just returned from a weeklong work trip to Las Vegas and if you’ve ever been there, you know two days is more than enough, so he is elated to be back home. Here is what has been on my radar as of late.

Design: My dear friend and talented designer, Alyssa Kapito’s beautiful home in the Hamptons was recently featured in Beach magazine and it is stunning. If you follow Alyssa on Instagram and are a fan of her aesthetic, the you will likely love seeing her home. You can take the full tour here.

Read: One of my oldest friends, Mimi Chan, who I have known since kindergarten recently launched a financial tech company called Littlefund. It is a brilliant concept intended to help friends and loved ones give to the children in their lives in a more meaningful. Mimi began formulating the idea for Littlefund after she and her husband, Alan welcomed their daughter, Liv a few years ago. She appreciated the generosity of their family and friends who gave Live toys and clothing, but felt guilty about the fact that many of these gifts would go unused and were inevitably donated or thrown out. With Littlefund, you can easily give a more meaningful contribution towards a child’s goals and dreams, such as education, hobbies, and adventures, starting them out on a path of financial stability rather than the consumerism that comes hand in hand with outgrowing a toy in a couple of months. Funds held in the Littlefund grow 1% APY and the company is FDIC insured. As someone who does not have children of her own, I always struggle with what to give my nieces and nephew or my friends’ children. I have already begun gifting through Littlefund instead and will continue doing so in order to ensure that my gifts have meaning and purpose. I am so proud of Mimi for creating a company that fills an important need. She was recently interviewed by NASDAQ and had incredible insight to share on what it means to be an entrepreneur. You can read the full Q & A here.

Watch: Bravo’s Flipping Out is returning with its eleventh season very soon. I have been watching since the beginning and it still remains a guilty pleasure! I don’t watch it so much for the design as I do the crazy drama at this point, but it is pretty entertaining. Some people were made for television and Jeff Lewis is certainly one of them. You can watch the trailer for season 11 here.

Listen: Nell Diamond, the founder of the luxury bedding brand, Hill House Home just launched a new podcast, One Quick Thing, which I have found both entertaining and inspiring. For each episode, Nell tackles one entrepreneurial issue such as “How to Build a Profit & Loss Statement”, “How to Negotiate”, and “How to Manage People” and discusses it with a fellow female entrepreneur. The topics may sound serious, but the information is delivered in an enjoyable and relatable way.

Drink: As much as I love a big, bold Cabernet Sauvignon, I don’t prefer red wine in the summer. It’s just too hot in Texas! Instead, I’ll opt for a Sauvignon Blanc or Summer Water, otherwise known as Rosé. If you’ve ever wondered what other varietals are easy to drink in the summer, you’ll want to check out this list: 11 Tasty Wines for Summer.

Shop: Tuckernuck has become one of my go-to online shopping destinations. While their overall aesthetic is a little more East Coast Prep than my own style, they have a really great assortment of chic tops, stylish dresses, and fabulous accessories. I have found several pieces on Tuckernuck that have become favorites. It’s the perfect destination for when you don’t quite want to spend what you would on Net-A-Porter, but want something more elevated and better quality than J.Crew (who coincidentally is having a 30% off sale sitewide right now). Even better? Tuckernuck just launched a 25% off sale sitewide! Including this fun top which I just wore to the office yesterday, this chic woven bag which is very much like a couple of my favorite summer bags, and this pretty dress which will make you wish summer would go on a little longer!

Have a wonderful weekend!
