This week flew by in the blink of an eye! We returned from our heavenly vacation at Round Hill in Jamaica on Monday evening and then it was back to the grind which wasn’t so bad since I came back feeling recharged and refreshed. It has just been a little more hectic than usual between getting some client presentations ready, interviewing candidates for the position we currently have available, looking for a new office space, and then on Wednesday, I was out of commission because I had to have an upper endoscopy to figure out what is going on since I have been dealing with pretty bad acid reflux for a couple of months now. Needless to say, I am ready for some quiet time in my studio this weekend as well as a little down time to catch up around the house after our trip. I will have a full recap for you about our time at Round Hill some time next week, but in the meantime, here is what has been on my radar lately. Have a great weekend!
Design: The cover of the new issue of House Beautiful features a very pretty project in Santa Barbara by my friend, Mark Sikes. It features his signature color palette of blue and white as well as a few hints of pastels. The whole project is fresh and beautiful!
Style: An exciting, new collaboration is brewing between Swedish retailer H & M and British textile house, GP & J Baker. The romantic collection will feature beautiful floral, Chinoiserie, and geometric prints inspired by the GP & J Baker archives at a super affordable price point. The H & M x GP & J Baker collection debuts on August 2nd, so be sure to mark your calendar!
Read: On Sunday, I will be having a huge sale on Chairish featuring many pieces of my own! In preparation for the event, I recently sat down for a super fun interview with Chairish in which I discuss my favorite pieces in the sale, more details about my upcoming book, Dream Design Live, and a few of my favorite design tips! You can read the Q & A here and you can get a sneak peek of the sale here!
Personal: Do you have an actual bucket list? I definitely have long-term goals, but I don’t have a bucket list. I just read this round-up of 12 Things to Put on your Bucket List and found it generally pretty refreshing. Rather than having a bunch of “pie in the sky” crazy scenarios, many of the things on the list are tasks that we can and should strive to do on a daily basis.
Food: Have you ever wondered about when to buy organic proteins? I generally buy all organic produce if it doesn’t have a peel and only purchase organic dairy. However, it isn’t always possible to find organic meat, so I found this article to be helpful.
Shop: The huge, eagerly anticipated Nordstrom Anniversary Sale officially opens to the public today! There are so many amazing deals to be had on things like this chic bathing suit, a fabulous set of Diptyque candles, and these stylish flats. You can find all of my top picks from the sale here.
