Instagram Inspiration: Cake Atelier Amsterdam

{@cakeatelieramsterdam can even make humble flowers like chrysanthemums and gerberas look stunning!}

Happy Thanksgiving! Every now and then, I come across an Instagram account that is new (to me) and inspiring. I don’t recall who posted Natasja Sadi’s work first, but I have recently seen more and more of her breathtaking work. Based in Amsterdam and known on Instagram as @cakeatelieramsterdam, Natasja is a former wedding dress designer turned baker and cake decorator. Her business was born out of a passion as she discovered how much she enjoyed decorating cakes for her children’s birthdays. She often posts the most beautiful, sumptuous floral arrangements in delft pottery. The most impressive part? The blooms are often made of sugar! They are so unbelievably realistic, that it is nearly impossible which flowers are real and which were shaped by hand by Natasja out of sugar. As we come together with our families and loved ones today, I thought it only appropriate to share the bountiful beauty of this Instagram account which has quickly risen on my list of favorites. The colors are stunning, the details are exquisite, and the composition in the very Dutch still lifes– simply divine!
