Mastering the Mix Modern and Traditional Styles

paloma contreras

I find that the most interesting, beautiful interiors are those that include pieces from a variety of periods and in various styles to create a bespoke, personal look. When every piece in a room is of the same style, you can end up with a look that feels one dimensional or like it came out of a page in a catalog. My friends at One Kings Lane recently asked me all about my thoughts on how to mix modern and traditional styles to create a look that is layered, eclectic, and full of personality. Check out the interview and read my advice for mastering the mix here.  Have a wonderful, long weekend!
