2017 Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Spring Gala

During the earlier part of this week, I was in New York for Tuesday’s annual Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Spring Gala at the beautiful Cipriani 42. The organization provides an extraordinary number of services to New Yorkers in need, so it was an honor to participate in an event benefitting such a worthy cause. This year’s theme was “All that Glitters” which I interpreted through rich, vibrant jewel tones. I love pink and especially love pink flowers, which served as the impetus for the table’s design. I selected one of my very favorite fabrics, Schumacher’s Samarkand Ikat for the tablecloth, then added the rest of the glittering elements. I worked with a fabulously talented floral designer, Tom Borgese who formerly worked as an editor at Martha Stewart Living and the original Domino to create a lush, beautiful centerpiece filled with garden roses, lilacs, ranunculus, tulips, anemones, and red bud to mimic the colors of amethyst, ruby, and rose quartz.

A Closer Look at the Details: One of my favorite shops in Houston, A Bientot, created a custom monogram based on my design firm’s logo and executed it on raspberry napkins with elegant gold thread. The Gem Block Napkin Rings from Kim Seybert feature malachite accents to expand on the jewel tone theme. The Faceted Flatware, also from Kim Seybert, mimics the look of crystal. The beautiful china is in the Syracuse and Arc en Ciel patterns from Robert Haviland & C. Parlon through Mottahedeh. The Gold Patina Placemats from Kim Seybert really added the glitter factor to the table, while chic hexagonal Tip Top Tea Lights from Artemest added a chic, modern element to the table. Last, but certainly not least, Addison Weeks provided beautiful and delicious-smelling bejeweled candles with brass lids and rose gold cabochons as a favor for the guests at our table. It was a truly beautiful evening filled with inspiring, inventive designs, fun on the dance floor with friends, and memories I won’t soon forget. Below, you’ll find a few of my favorite tables from the event.

  1. I so enjoy watching your career expand and grow into an international business. You have a lovely talent expressed in your interior designs. But most of all I like the way you conduct your life. I am sure it is hectic and even overwhelming at times, however, you handle it with grace. You are one of the few blogs I continue to follow daily.
