LDV Loves: AERIN x Williams Sonoma

aerin x williams sonoma lead

Aerin Lauder is a true American style icon and one of the women whom I most admire. Aside from being beautiful and gracious, Aerin is a successful businesswoman and an inspiring lifestyle architect. With several beautiful homes that exude the same effortless ease that she does, who wouldn’t want to live like Aerin? One of the things I love most about Aerin and her style sensibility is that she looks to the past with reverence– whether it is to lessons learned from her trailblazing grandmother Estee Lauder or to traditional furniture styles– and then executes her vision with modern verve.

Aerin recently debuted a beautiful collaboration with one of my favorite companies in the design industry, Williams Sonoma Home which is a great resource for furniture, lighting, and accessories. Inspired by her home in Palm Beach, the collection blends the sophistication of Aerin’s style with an inviting, effortless aesthetic. The Aerin x Williams Sonoma collection spans multiple categories including tabletop, lighting, art, and accessories. I have already bookmarked several favorites, including the super chic bamboo frames and scalloped edge frames!

  1. How is she a successful businesswoman? She was lucky enough to be born with the surname Lauder!

If you want to admire a successful businesswoman start by admiring those women who have built up their businesses from scratch without any advantages, for example your good self!!

    1. Hi Claude,

I certainly see your point. As someone who was not born into any type of family name or means, I understand what it takes to start from scratch and make a name for yourself through hard work and determination. I only wish I’d been given a leg up from family circumstances!

Aerin’s grandmother, Estee built an extraordinary, iconic business that continues to dominate the beauty industry today. Because of her social status, Aerin very well could have stayed on as an executive at Estee Lauder, being perfectly happy and successful. However, she saw the opportunity to branch out on her own and create her own lifestyle brand, venturing into categories her family had never been a part of– lighting, furniture, textiles, and decorative accessories. Does name recognition help? I’m sure of it, but we all use what we’ve got in this life, do we not? I admire Aerin for wanting more than her family’s legacy afforded and building a name and company of her own.

  2. Yes, Aerin could have easily rested on her family’s laurels. But she certainly has many gifts to share with us and for that I have so much respect for her. And the flip side is, she could have failed at her endeavors but her talent shone through and her success is now her own.
