  1. My mother’s advice to me when I got my first job. She said, “Earn Your Place” When I asked what she meant, she said, “specialize is doing all the jobs everyone hates doing and when they can’t find someone to do a “thankless job” say, I think I can do that. Then give it 100%. Then do it again, and again and after a while you will be the ‘go to person’. and when something really good comes along, you will be the one will pick to get it. That is exactly what I did in my world of work and in my life as a community and political volunteer. Best advice I ever received.
