PCD Friday Favorites 03 10

This has been such an amazing week! I have a lot to be thankful for including our Luxe cover and feature, a client presentation that went swimmingly (is there anything better than a trusting, enthusiastic client?), and the news that a huge goal that I have been working towards for the past couple of years is coming to fruition. I can’t share the details yet, but it really is a dream come true and I cannot wait to tell you all about it! There is a lot of work to be done, but it will be amazing! In the meantime, here are a few of the things that I am excited about this week. Be sure to let me know what you are loving this week! I am always on the look out for new and inspiring things.

Design: Houston’s Azalea Trail Home & Garden Tour starts today! I am taking my team on a little field trip this afternoon to see all of the beautiful homes and gardens on the tour. It will be a nice way to gather inspiration and to celebrate our office’s successes this week. You can buy your tickets through this link.

Style: The super chic collection, Dovima Paris by designer Jane Pendy is having a trunk show today at Ann Mashburn in Houston. I went by yesterday and fell in love with the feminine details of their Spring/Summer ’17 Collection which includes beautiful blouses, chic dresses, and timeless stripes.

Watch: I know that I mentioned the new Ryan Murphy series on FX, Feud: Joan vs. Bette a few weeks ago, but I just have to mention it again now that I’ve watched it. Susan Sarandon’s and Jessica Lange’s performances are fantastic. The set and costume design are amazing as well. It’s a must-watch!

Eat: Last weekend, Fabian and I went to dinner at Caracol, a fantastic Mexican seafood restaurant here in Houston. We started with a charred octopus salad that had the most delicious charred carrots and I have been craving the carrots all week as a result. I came across this delicious-sounding recipe for roasted mustard carrots, cauliflower, and lentils on Pinterest and can’t wait to try it. Hopefully, it will satisfy my craving!

Read: Wednesday was International Women’s Day. Many women protested and stayed home to show what the workforce were lacking if not for women and our contributions. Being the owner of a small business and a role model for my team, I showed my support for the cause by continuing to do what I do on the day to day– run my design firm and this blog. Tory Burch, perennial style icon and inspiring entrepreneur launched an incredible campaign through her Tory Burch Foundation on Wednesday called #EmbraceAmbition. I know I’ve certainly heard people talk about ambition, especially for women, in a negative context. As an entrepreneur, a modern woman, and a dreamer with huge goals, I embrace my ambition and encourage you to do the same. Anything is possible through hard work, talent, and perseverance!

Shop: We updated the shop here on LDV this week and have tons of chic spring picks in store for your wardrobe, for the home, as well as for gifts. These neutral sandals have the perfect heel to wear all day, while this white Tibi dress is the type of piece that is polished, yet completely easy to wear. My dear friend, Mark Sikes‘ latest introduction are these fabulous Love Baskets, his homage to classic, effortless chic a la Jane Birkin.

Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Read your post everyday and always appreciate your positive and uplifting take on the world. Today I especially applaud you for supporting women in business. I had not heard of the Embrace Ambition and admit I have been a bit confused at some of the info published lately. I am with you 100% . We have always embraced ambition and because we live in America we have endless opportunities to embrace the way best for ourselves. Well said my friend!
