Resort Ready

{Coqui Coqui Valladolid}

Is it freezing where you live? The temperature in Houston went from 80 degrees on Saturday to 42 on Sunday and it has been super cold ever since! I won’t complain too much because I know our friends in the midwest and on the East Coast are dealing with much less palatable weather than we are here in Texas. If you’re lucky, you may have plans to escape the cold and head for sunnier locales over the next couple of weeks. It seems like my Instagram feed is always flooded with photos of people on fabulous beach vacations after Christmas.

On a related note, we were at a dear client’s home a couple of weeks ago for a big photoshoot. My client has exquisite taste in fragrances– among other things– and I couldn’t help but notice the intoxicatingly wonderful scent in her powder room. It turned out to be Coqui Coqui’s Flor de Naranjo (orange blossom) room diffuser. I immediately went online and ordered one for my own house and I am obsessed! I had heard about Coqui Coqui, the impossibly chic boutique hotel, spa, and perfumery which originally started in Tulum. It turns out the Tulum location has closed down, but there are other branches in Valladolid, Merida, Coba, and Izamal within Mexico, as well as a forthcoming location in Bora Bora. I have been craving a trip to Mexico lately, so maybe I’ll have to check out Coqui Coqui in 2017. If your travels will be sending you to warmer climates sooner, check out my round-up of resort-ready pieces to pack at the end of the post!
