Friday Favorites 12.16.16

I hope you’ve had a great week! Mine was a little rough– I took a tumble down our stairs thanks to my slippery new Gucci loafers. I have a few scrapes and bruises, but thankfully, I’m okay! To add insult to injury, I’ve had strep throat and a terrible upper respiratory infection for the past couple of days, so I’ve been confined to my house. On top of that, my parents had a small fire at their house two nights ago. The silver lining is that everything could have been so much worse and thankfully, everyone is okay. Let’s move on to something more fun, shall we? It’s time for Friday Favorites!

Design: Can’t make it to New York this holiday season to see the window displays and beautiful decorations around the city? Check out Town & Country‘s round-up of The Best Holiday Windows. We were in New York about a month ago and got to see a few of these!

Style: Two modern style icons, Aerin Lauder and Olivia Palermo have teamed up for the newly-expanded AERIN accessories collection.

Drink: Are you in search of a beautiful and delicious festive cocktail to serve at your holiday gathering? Look no further. MyDomaine has 8 Holiday Cocktail Recipes and just yesterday, I shared a few of my favorite Christmas Cocktails here on LDV in our Effortless Entertaining column!

Listen: Listening to Christmas music genuinely brings me so much joy. I especially love the classics more so than contemporary Christmas music. Give me Bing Crosby, Eartha Kitt, Nat King Cole, Darlene Love, and Brenda Lee, and I’ll be happy as a clam. Mariah Carey’s “All I Want for Christmas” is more contemporary, but it’s been around long enough to be a classic and is a personal favorite of mine. Watch Mariah and several other big name stars sing the Christmas favorite with James Corden in this Carpool Karaoke clip. If you could use a smile today, it is a must-watch!

Watch: I finally watched Bridget Jones’s Baby last weekend and loved every minute of it! I love the original Bridget movies, but didn’t really have high hopes for the newest installment. I have to say, I don’t remember the last time I laughed so hard, so many times. It is charming, fun, and a definite must-watch while you have some downtime over the holidays.

Read: If you’re a movie buff, you may have already seen a lot of the movies on ELLE’s “20 Movies You Should See Before Awards Season” list. I am dying to see Jackie, but it still isn’t showing in Houston. Does anyone know when it will show here? Loving, Manchester by the Sea, Nocturnal Animals, Miss Sloane, and La La Land are also on the top of my list!

Shop: If you’ve procrastinated like I have and still have gifts to shop for, check out our fabulous LDV Holiday Gift Guides and our India Hicks Trunk Show for lots of stylish finds that will arrive in time for Christmas.

I’d love to know what you’re loving this week. Have a wonderful weekend!
