A couple of weeks ago, India Hicks reached out to let me know that she’d be in Houston. We’ve followed each other on social media for years, so it was lovely to finally meet in person over coffee at Tiny Boxwoods. I have always admired India’s British bohemian style and count her father, the legendary David Hicks among my top design influences. What struck me most about India in addition to her beauty and style, was her fantastic sense of humor and her incredible drive to create something truly special. In addition to writing covetable design books, India has created an eponymous brand which has expanded into multiple categories– beauty, jewelry, handbags, and accessories.
The India Hicks collection is super chic and well-edited. After doing traditional licensing partnerships for years, India decided to go the direct-sales route this time and has built a “tribe” of stylish women who work as ambassadors and sell her gorgeous goods at fun gatherings with girlfriends.
When I told the girls in my office about my fun breakfast with India, our bookkeeper, Ashton mentioned that she’d recently signed up to be an India Hicks ambassador after attending a party her friend, also an ambassador, had hosted. She loved the product and thought it would be a good way to get to know more people in her area.
India spoke candidly with me about her mission to empower women to build solid businesses of their own while having fun. Each piece is designed by India and are inspired by her British heritage, her life in the Bahamas, or as she puts it, her “madcap dreams”. As I explored the collection, I found that my wish list grew quite rapidly, so I thought it would be fun to partner with Ashton from my office to host a virtual India Hicks gathering!

Hi Deborah,
I am not an ambassador, just hosting a virtual trunk show for one of the girls in my office who is an ambassador and to promote my friend, India’s beautiful collection.
You can get more information on becoming an ambassador here: https://www.indiahicks.com/rep/ashtonmarshall/enrollment/joinus
Cheers,

I would love to sponsor you Deborah.
I so agree with you about India Hicks. I attended a recent track showing of her new collection. I purchased a dark brown clutch bag, which I planned to carry with my new Eileen Fisher outfit. It is so very nicely made and can hold my glasses and is long enough for my cell. The other pieces I saw were also very very nice. The bag has become an important addition to my fall and winter wardrobe. I am delighted to see you have shared her collection with your readers. As always you have ideas and suggestions that make sense to me. Keep up your good work.
Thanks for the kind words, Beth!
Beautiful collection, gorgeous down to the tiniest details!
