Sag Harbor Style

Summer may be over, but the Hamptons is eternal. I love a classic, old house and this 1840s Egyptian Revival in Sag Harbor recently featured in Hamptons Cottages and Gardens is no exception. The home owner, Shaun Woodward, a former British politician, the lure of restoring an old house on Long Island was irresistible given his appreciation for architectural beauty. Woodward enlisted architect, Martin Sosa of the Manhattan firm, Arcologica along with interior designer, David Kleinberg to restore the former sea captain’s house and transform it into a chic, masculine abode. A cool, cohesive palette of various blue hues can be found in the main house as well as in the guest house, while the furnishings lend a masculine, modern slant to the otherwise traditional house. The entire house is chic and beautiful, but my favorite spaces are the kitchen, master bedroom, and the bathrooms.

  1. I loved today’s posted and most especially seeing the beautiful desks and work surfaces. Thank you for giving me a new inspiration for my week.

  2. The color pallet and old/new juxtaposition of the pieces is so elegantly approachable. The designers I work with at Bella Vici were all drooling over the furnishings and finishes in these spaces. Gimme, gimme more!
