Chic and Pretty

As you all know, New York Fashion Week is in full swing! Oscar de la Renta presented its Ready to Wear Spring 2017 Collection yesterday, showcasing a return to the brand’s classic, feminine, and elegant aesthetic that is the hallmark of Mr. de la Renta’s style and legacy. It is the first show since former Creative Director, Peter Copping left his post, and it is evident that the brand is returning to its roots. The palette is a simple, cohesive one– white, black, and red– what is not to love? I love the easy, feminine silhouettes, elegant fabrics, and jet set influence thanks to the embellishments and sandals. Below, you’ll find a few of my favorite looks. I’d love to pack these in my suitcase for a fabulous trip to Morocco or Mexico. After all, a girl can dream, can’t she?

  1. I saw a woman at the Carcassonne market last week dressed almost identically to the second look. She was older, probably in her mid- to late-60s. A white lace dress, very fitted. She had the tiniest woven straw bag. And gold tennis shoes (not Stans–that would be too obvious). Her friend also was dressed in white and off-white. They were stunning.
I also love that crinkly gold gown with the black belt.
