In the Mood: September 2016

{Betsy Brown}

Earlier this week, I was flipping through the new issue of Milieu and came across a stunning house designed by Betsy Brown of Mountain Brook, Alabama. I have admired Betsy’s beautiful work and elegant use of restraint for many years, so any time I come across a project of hers, I feel inspired all over again. I love that she designs in neutral, high-contrast palettes and uses a chic mix of antiques along with both traditional and modern pieces. This is the look I love the most and the way that I personally prefer to live– classic, polished, and timeless. What could be better. The same certainly goes for fashion– simple silhouettes with special details in a classic palette of black, white, gray, camel, and army green are not only perfect for fall, but for any time of year.

  1. Hi Paloma! I’ve been following your blog since about 2008 and I don’t comment nearly often enough to let you know how much I love “La Dolce Vita”. You show up every day with great content and as I have grown into a professional designer myself, it has become a highlight of my morning ritual each workday. This month’s “In the Mood” is just lovely and I adore the kitchen above by Betsy Brown. Thank you for sharing!

    1. Hi Kathryn,
