In the Mood: August 2016

Aug JK Firenze3

{JK Firenze}

As most of you know, Fabian and I just moved into our new house a week ago today. Unpacking has been exhausting, but things are really starting to take shape! In this house, I knew that I wanted to paint almost all of the walls white and to have a very crisp, neutral palette accented with some pops of color. Perhaps it is being in our new home and being inspired by my plans for the design of it, but lately, I have had black and white on my mind. It may sound boring, but it is honestly my favorite color combination. It is classic, chic, and timeless. It can go modern or traditional and is the perfect backdrop for just about anything. As I start to execute my plans for the design of my home (more on that soon!), here is a bit of what has been inspiring me lately. What are you in the mood for this month?

Tell Me What You Think! leave a comment...

  1. We moved a year ago and painted everything the same off-white (matte on the walls and ceiling, semi gloss on the doors and trim). It’s been a little high maintenance (nicks and scuffs show easily) but it makes me so happy and everything is so bright!

  2. Lovely post Paloma. Once small point – your first picture is the JK in Florence not the JK Capri. Both are beautiful places.

  3. Great post, Paloma! Looking forward to see your new home design plans, I’m sure it’s gonna look fantastic. This month I’m in the mood for a new fall wardrobe, although I’m not ready to let summer go just yet. If that makes sense…

  4. I’m starting to jump on the “Everything White” band wagon as well. One question I always have however is the following. If let’s say you’re going with a creamy white like Swiss Coffee from BM do you paint everything that color but in different sheens? For example do you paint the ceiling and the door trims in the same shade? Also, as I look at the Steve Gambrell kitchen. I love the white subway tile with black grout but I’m wondering how it would look if he just would have done the black grout on the wall with the stove hood and the rest with regular white grout? Just questions that pop into my head when I see these pictures.
