Connecticut Chic

While flying back from Los Angeles on Sunday, I read the new ELLE DECOR from cover to cover. There are several chic and inspiring features in the July/August issue, including Ina Garten’s dream worthy East Hampton garden. My favorite of all the houses featured though, is the 1930s Connecticut cottage of  Bruce Glickman and Wayne Henley, owners of the Manhattan mid-century modern showroom, Duane. The traditional cottage allowed Glickman and Henley to take a more relaxed approach to decorating and curating their collections. While the previous homeowners had remodeled most of the original charm and character out of the house, Glickman and Henley did everything in their power to reintroduce those critical elements. While they work in New York, the Connecticut house is very much “home” which is evident in the beautiful, layered warmth found throughout each stylish room.
