Hamptons Idyll

Over the weekend, I was in Southampton visiting a new client whose home we will be designing. It is a very charming home built in the 1890s and it has great bones. I can’t wait to get started on it! On the plane ride there, I read the new issue of Veranda and was instantly inspired by this beautiful 1880s shingled farmhouse, also in Southampton. The owners, Quin Pofahl and Jaime Jiménez purposely sought out a dilapidated house in need of extensive repairs. After years in their previous home in the Hamptons, they were craving a new project to take on and dove right in. The result is a stunningly chic. The home feels light and airy– a true feat in such an old house– while the furnishings are modern and elegant. The crisp white walls provide the perfect backdrop for abstract art, black and white photography, and sculptural furniture. I think it is safe to say that Pofahl and Jiménez gave this house a new life!
