Always a Lady

Carolina Herrera Fall 16-3

Just about every season, Carolina Herrera’s collection is one of my top favorites. For Fall 2016 Ready-to-Wear, her runway show took place at the beautiful and historic Frick Collection again, as it did for Spring ’16. As always, the collection is beautiful, elegant, and ladylike, just like Carolina herself. I admire her for so many reasons– her talent; her innate elegance and sophistication; and for the fact that after decades of designing, she is constantly looking ahead and innovating while continuing to create clothes that are timeless and effortless. The Fall 2016 collection features beautiful details like floating paillettes and three dimensional leather florets, among other details, while other gowns are much more streamlined, but no less chic. Carolina’s collection is always beautiful, always inspiring, and she is always a lady. These are my favorite looks, but the entire collection is really special.

  1. Love that it is about the clothes – not the model or how much skin can be shown. Truly a designer for a woman. Thanks for your post.

  2. Paloma,
I have been a fan of your blog for a very long time. I’m not sure
What is going on with the latest format. It is not user friendly like your last format.

    1. Kitsie,

Thank you for the feedback. What device are you viewing the blog on? We recently updated the mobile version to be more user friendly. Before, it was just a scaled down version of the desktop version of the blog and was difficult to read. I’d love to know which device you are using in case we can do anything to improve the user experience.

  3. She is my favorite. She makes women beautiful. Some of my favorite looks, though, are what she herself wears–the white shirts, with popped collars and turned-up cuffs, and skirts WITH POCKETS!!! Mme. Herrera always looks elegant yet comfortable.
