A Modern, Tailored Home by Wendy Labrum

Wendy Labrum is a young designer on the rise. Based in Chicago, Wendy previously lived in London and traveled extensively throughout Europe, helping to define her style sensibility and admiration for antiques and the decorative arts. Wendy has completed a number of stylish projects including this 3,500 square foot condo duplex designed for a young professional woman.

When Wendy and her client initiated the project, the client was single, but soon after moving in, she met the man of her dreams and her boyfriend has since moved in. Thankfully, the neutral palette and chic furnishings are just as ideal for a single gal as they are for a young couple. Inspired by the movie, The Holiday, Wendy and her client sought to create a “Montecito Chic” vibe. While I love pattern, you’ll notice that aside from the Greek key sisal rug in the living room, the textiles used throughout the condo are all solids in a warm, neutral palette. The result is soothing and sophisticated, making this stylish home the perfect respite from city life!
