Fabulous Room Friday 08.21.15

Green Dining Room Palmer Weiss

This week, I am loving this preppy, glamorous dining room by Palmer Weiss as featured in the September issue of House Beautiful. I love that Palmer chose pieces that speak to a traditional aesthetic and composed them in a way that feels bright, fun, and energetic. Palmer says that she and her client bonded over a love of color. It’s always fun to have a client who is willing to take bold risks because they can have big rewards, like this chic dining room!

The walls were lacquered in Benjamin Moore’s Seaweed to set the tone for the room. I wish we could see the entire space, but these vignettes are lovely. Palmer opted for classic dining chairs in woven cane with brass accents by Bielecky Brothers in New York which are upholstered in saffron yellow velvet by Pierre Frey. The vignette above includes vintage glass sconces from Lucca Antiques, a sunburst mirror by Julian Chichester, and a beautiful gilded console with a black marble top. I love consoles like this. Believe it or not, they look amazing, even in super modern spaces. The touch of blue from the pair of Foo Dogs and blue and white garden stools plays nicely with the green walls and seals the deal on the “1970s Chinoiserie meets Upper East Side preppy vibe”. It’s a fun space, don’t you think?

House Beautiful Dining Room Palmer Weiss

I am determined to purge this weekend, so I am planning to clean out my closet along with the closet in our guest room. I’m feeling bogged down by so much “stuff” that I don’t need and would prefer to donate it to people who would get good use out of it rather than continue to leave it all unused in my house. I think it will feel good to free up some space. Wish me luck and have a great weekend!
