Fabulous Room Friday 06.12.15

christopher spitzmiller

The July  issue of Architectural Digest just came out and it features several beautiful and inspiring homes, including lamp designer, Christopher Spitzmiller’s country home in upstate New York. Located in the Hudson Valley, the Greek Revival home, #CloveBrookFarm on Instagram, was built in the 1830s. The entire home is lovely and pays homage to Spitzmiller’s mentor, the late, great Albert Hadley. You can see the full home tour in Architectural Digest.

Today, I’ve chosen to focus on this truly fabulous guest bedroom. Perhaps it is because I have been in Washington, D.C. this week and I am feeling patriotic, or because few things are as classic as a palette of red, white, and blue, but I love this attic bedroom. The painted blue floors are super chic as is the iconic Albert Hadley wallpaper and fabric. The white spool bed is an antique which once belonged to Mr. Hadley himself, while the bedding is by Leontine Linens. This room is the picture of summer, isn’t it? Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Paloma I love this room, as our home had an attic styled bedroom when I was growing up. This design would have thrilled me and of course the lamps are gorgeous!

  2. I love the fresh and vibrant look of the red and white. My personal preference might have been to leave the paper/pattern off the ceiling and to paint the wall behind the banquette red for contrast. Overall – it’s a very fun room and I love the pattern repeat of the lamp shades against the triangular window too.
