In the Mood: April 2015

The seventies have always been one of my favorite decades for both fashion and design. I love the over the top glamour and the idea of jet-setting bohemian luxury. The Fall/Winter 2015 collections at fashion week a couple of months ago cemented the fact that the seventies look has really taken a stronghold and I haven’t been able to get it out of my mind. I watched Inherent Vice last weekend and can’t really say that I liked it, even though I wanted to. It was trippy and hard to follow, but I loved the wardrobe selections and the idea of 1970s Southern California which is the mood I am currently channeling.

I’m pretty buttoned up, but on some level, I think there is a rebellious bohemian girl in me.  This month is all about seventies vibes, bohemian luxe, California interiors like Kendall Conrad’s beautiful home which served as a major inspiration for this post, and style icons of days gone by like Brigitte Bardot, Ali McGraw, and the gypsy queen herself, Stevie Nicks played to a soundtrack of Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, America, Carly Simon and the other great singer-songwriters of the era.
