This week’s fabulous room is an absolutely beautiful bedroom designed and executed by a very talented family. Featured in the November issue of Architectural Digest, the home belongs to New York contractor, Nicholas S.G. Stern and his wife Courtney, who is an interior designer. The couple worked with Nicholas’ father, renowned architect Robert A.M. Stern, so it is no surprise that the result would be so stunning with this pool of talent behind it.
I love this room because it features traditional design elements composed in a very modern way. Everything feels crisp and has clean lines allowing the gorgeous Gracie wallpaper to make a dramatic statement. It looks fabulous juxtaposed against the minimal lines of the fireplace mantel and the beautiful mirror above it. The mix in this room is pure perfection!
{The bed features a skirt and dramatic headboard shape. Aside from the peridot ikat pillows and wallpaper, the color palette remains neutral, but this space is anything but boring!}

Fabulous indeed! And the Gracie paper is just perfection … love it!
Would you please share the information on the pillow border detail on this opening photo (black pillows with white sort of greek key border detail) …can it be purchased or was it custom cut and sewn on?
thanks much!!
