Fabulous Room Friday 08.08.14

francisco costa library

The September issue of Architectural Digest is hitting all the right notes. Yesterday, I shared a tour of Tory Burch’s new Manhattan office and today, we are focusing on another fashion icon, Francisco Costa, Creative Director of women’s wear for Calvin Klein. Costa collaborated with interior designer, Mark Cunningham on his country house in Brookhaven, Long Island.  Many of you probably remember Costa’s ultra-chic Manhattan apartment from when it was published a few years ago. The library in his country house feels very much in keeping with his New York apartment. I love the striking, monochromatic blue-gray palette and the floor to ceiling bookshelves filled with stacks upon stacks of style tomes. The simplicity of the room is so powerful– shelves filled with well-loved books, a large table, a chair, some abstract art, and Thomas O’Brien’s classic Bryant sconces. I could spend hours in a room like this!

Have a wonderful weekend!
