Fabulous Room Friday 05.21.10

Domicile ID2

This week’s fabulous room was designed Amanda Malson and Jolene Ballard of the California-based Domicile Interior Design. Their firm specializes in hip, stylish interiors. This room epitomizes eclectic glamour. The use of color is wonderful! I love the chili pepper of the wall juxtaposed with the soft colors of the Chinoiserie panels. I believe the one on the left is Gournay’s “Portobello” which you may recognize from the cover of the Domino book. The white linens provide the perfect canvas for the colorful accents throughout the room. The space feels chic, personal, inviting, and very California.

  1. I love the detail on the tables flanking the bed. The color scheme really draws in the eye…and there is so much (but not too much) eye candy to enjoy. Truly fabulous.

  2. Gorgeous! Just the inspiration I needed. I just moved into a new studio/atelier which means that my bedroom is now no longer storage/warehouse for easels canvasses etc. I can play again with the space!

  3. Hi Paloma,

Jolene and I are so trilled to see that you chose our room for Fabulous Friday today. We had so much fun designing and pulling it all together. Each piece of furniture and accessory as a fun story behind it!! Thank you!!! Love your blog!!
