Wild Streak: Part 2

The inspiration for yesterday’s post, Wild Streak, featuring chic interiors with a touch of leopard came to be because I recently received an absolutely gorgeous leopard coat (very similar to Sienna Miller’s above) from my dear friend, Betty, so I have had leopard on my mind even more than usual. Betty happens to be one of the chicest women I know as well as the owner of A Bientot, my favorite boutique in Houston. I love the coat so much and know that I will wear it forever since it is the kind of thing that will never go out of style. A leopard coat is chic, glamorous, timeless, and as you’ll see in this collection of inspiration images, it is actually super versatile. It can be ladylike or edgy; paired with neutrals, all black, or a combination of colors. Leopard is a neutral after all!

{If you love the idea of leopard coat that you’ll wear forever as much as I do, you’ll be thrilled to know that Emerson Fry recently re-released their chic Wingtip Coat in Leopard Linen from a couple of seasons ago. I lusted over it for a while and then lamented the fact that it sold out, so I am super excited to see it’s back! It’s selling out quickly, so don’t hesitate to order before they’re gone again. Emerson Fry has lots of great neutrals to pair with it, too!

We’ve all heard the old adage about leopard being a neutral and it truly is. I happen to like it in small doses, whether I’m using it in a room or in my wardrobe. I find that it has a stronger impact that way. It works beautifully with most color palettes from dark and saturated to those with light, crisp neutrals. It also lends itself to every style whether masculine or feminine, traditional or modern. Leopard often makes an appearance on pillows, chairs, and even rugs or stair runners. It seems ocelot and cheetah often get confused with leopard and it is easy to see why, but no matter which spots you are seeing, chances are the results will be chic! I’m currently working on a new design project in which the overall look will be ultra tailored, polished, and chic with a mostly neutral color palette. I always opt to throw in a pattern or two for visual interest and texture and I’m thinking a little dose of leopard will do just the trick! Are you a fan of leopard? It seems people either love it or hate it. Do you embrace it in both your home and wardrobe?
