Summer Style Refresh with Janet Kain

I have been familiar with Janet Kain For the Home since I ordered one of their beautiful throws as a hostess gift when I visited a friend over a year ago. Janet Kain, who attended the New York School of Interior Design founded her company several years ago when she realized that the market was missing something– a line of beautiful, handmade throw pillows in designer fabrics with the Palm Beach meets Park Avenue attitude that she wasn’t able to find in New York– think “Urban Coastal” as Janet likes to describe it. The beauty of Janet Kain’s pillows is that they are generously sized– usually 22″ squares and come with down inserts and the designer fabric on both sides. Even better is the fact that Janet Kain’s site is beautifully merchandised by style/color which takes the guesswork out of finding patterns and colors to pair together. The company eventually expanded beyond pillows and they now carry a chic assortment of throws and trays to complete any room. I was thrilled when the lovely team at Janet Kain offered to send me a few pieces for a little summer refresh around my house. Do you all change up your decor from one season to the next? I like to make little changes, mostly through accessories, so this was right up my alley!

{I used Janet Kain’s sumptuous Natural and Cream Greek Key Throw in my formal living room where the neutral colors fit the color scheme beautifully! If you’ve read LDV long enough, then chances are that you know how much I love Greek Key. It is my favorite classic design motif and I love the modern interpretation in this soft cotton throw. While it isn’t exactly cool in Houston during the summer, I am always cold while we watch TV in the evenings, so I have been getting very good use out of this throw and the soft cotton keeps it from being too warm. It’s just right!}

 {In the guest bedroom, I currently have Biscuit’s Katie Bedding and I’ve found that a tiny black and white swiss dot print is basically a neutral, so I wanted to bring in some fun, colorful pillows that would really beckon summer into the room. The headboard is navy, so I opted for a pair of pillows in Quadrille’s Periwinkle Nitik pattern. I love the scale of the pattern and find that it complements the swiss dots and big Greek Key lumbar pillow rather well. The look evokes a bit of a Santorini vibe now.}

If you are currently in the market for new, high-quality designer pillows or throws, you should definitely check out Janet Kain. They have so many chic patterns, that it is impossible to go wrong! These are just a few of my favorite patterns from Janet Kain:
