Miami Chic

I have been following Sarah Harrelson, the founder of Cultured on Instagram (@sarahgharrelson) for a couple of years now after stumbling across her stylish feed during a bygone Art Basel. I remember being drawn in when she posted a photo of the beautiful exterior of her British Colonial-style Miami home. Ever since, the classic white house with black shutters and the charming fence have stuck with me. I remember searching for photos of her house at the time, so curious to see what the inside would look like. Well, imagine my delight and surprise when I was shopping on 1st Dibs the other day and randomly decided to check out their 1st Dibs Introspective magazine, only to discover an interview with Harrelson, which also features a tour of her home.

The house was designed by Sarah’s husband, interior decorator, Austin Harrelson and features an impressive art collection and a chic amalgam of furnishings from plaster Giacometti lamps and simple seagrass rugs to French antiques and mid-century pieces. The house feels beautifully layered and personal rather than “decorated”, which seems wholly appropriate for a young, hip family with three children. The home is at once sophisticated, yet seems to maintain a sense of humor and a lightheartedness that makes it so charming.
