Timeless Glamour

The new, January/February issue of Veranda is a special New York-focused edition. The interiors in this issue are truly beautiful, sophisticated, and lean a bit more modern given the context. When I received my copy, I was immediately drawn into the dining room on the cover with its ochre walls, chic plaster chandelier, and mix of modern and traditional. I was thrilled to find out that the dining room, along with the entire apartment it is part of, were designed by architect and interior designer, Daniel Romualdez. Romualdez is one of the most talented designers and architects working today. With an enviable client list that includes Deeda Blair, Daphne Guiness, Aerin Lauder, Ina Garten, and of course, Tory Burch, for whom he has designed homes and collaborated with to create the signature look of her stores. Born in the Philippines, but educated in the U.S., Romualdez’s work exudes classic American style in all of its various iterations. He possesses an amazing ability to execute a variety of styles. Daniel does not have a website or a presence on social media, so anytime a project of his is published, I relish in it. I am crossing my fingers that he will write a book soon because I have such great respect and admiration for his work. Until then, we can absorb the beauty of this glamorous apartment, which he designed to reflect its fashionable, modern-thinking owners. I love that the neutral palette is carried throughout the entire apartment, painting a cohesive story of elegance through a combination of striking modern pieces and classic, timeless silhouettes.
