Friday Favorites 11.03.17

Happy Friday! This week has been a great one in that I’ve had a lot of time in our office and have been super productive. We had a great client presentation yesterday and are excited to see the project come to fruition, especially since this family’s house was severely damaged during Hurricane Harvey. You probably also know that our Houston Astros won the World Series for the first time in franchise history– since 1962! Admittedly, Fabian and I aren’t huge sports fanatics, but it has been so fun watching the World Series. The games have been so fun to watch since both teams were so strong and evenly matched. Our Astros played with so much heart and gave our city, still reeling from the hurricane a sense of excitement and hope. Go Astros! My birthday is tomorrow, so I am looking forward to a nice weekend with family and friends. Who says it isn’t any fun getting older?

Design: I stumbled across this image of this beautiful bathroom by Lynda Reeves on Pinterest the other day and it lead me to a behind-the-scenes video showing the before and after. I loved seeing the transformation of this ultra-chic space!

Style: I am so ready for sweater weather! I got a taste of it when I returned from San Francisco last weekend and being able to wear a cashmere sweater in Houston was glorious! I wish we had a true fall season because it is my favorite. I am crossing my fingers that the temperatures will cool down a bit so that I can wear more sweaters. I am currently loving this cotton fisherman’s sweater (I can’t stand wearing wool!), this chic black turtleneck, and this pretty ruffled sleeve sweater for date nights.

Read: I was pleasantly surprised the other day when Ashton, who manages the bookkeeping and accounting in our office shared a photo from Molly Sims’ new book, Everyday Chic in which she lists my blog as one of her favorite sources of design inspiration. I have loved Molly since she was a model in the 90s, hosted House of Style on MTV, and now that she has her own lifestyle website. She has beautiful taste and exemplifies the chic, effortless California lifestyle that so many aspire to.

Eat: With the holidays around the corner, it’s time to start thinking about entertaining! I love hosting my family’s Thanksgiving Dinner and this year, I am also planning to host a nice holiday dinner to thank my wonderful team for all of their hard work over the past year. If you’re hosting a fete this holiday season and are on the hunt for what to serve, check out this list of 16 Easy Dinner Party Recipes.

Shop: My aesthetic can lean very feminine in some aspects. Case in point, I have been loving bows lately! When done right, the effect is ultra-chic rather than twee. I currently have my eye on these chic bow flats, these leopard bow mules, and this darling hair tie.

Have a wonderful weekend!
