A Note on Style: November Round-Up

Hello, LDV readers! This is Karima Hunter from A Note on Style. November marks the final round-up and review of fall items on my wish list. Many of these pieces I’ve previously talked about so I like to circle back and see which looks still feel important to me. I’ve fallen for sweaters, loafers and blazers, but not in my usual go-to classic palette. There’s always a place for black, navy and gray but this season Interesting colors have taken prescedent and feel fresh and modern. Take a look…

I held off on buying sweaters early in the season since its been so warm, but now is the time to snap up some favorites. Pastel blue, blush pink, lilac and sage green look modern and add a great deal of interest to everything from everyday jeans to pleated skirts.

I live in flats and had been looking for an updated loafer this season, preferably in something other than black. Cognac, red, navy and even white look especially appealing right now. I’d treat any of these colors like a neutral and would toss them on with anything from a dress or skirt to casual jeans.

I’ve talked a lot about blazers this season and still feel very strongly about their importance. They truly go with everything and if you find one that can take you from day to night with jeans or a slip dress, you’ve got a winner. If the menswear look is too much, than try velvet in one of the seasons gorgeous colors.

Lastly, it’s at this time of the year when I need a little make up boost. Any glow from summer has faded so I like to add a shade that boosts my skin tone. A year round bronzer does wonders to hinting at a healthy complexion from within and a swipe of color on the lips makes me feel pulled together and polished.
