KRB Living Room

I love that One Kings Lane’s Style Guide gives us glimpses of homes we’ve seen before in a whole new light. Case in point, the ultra-chic Manhattan home of Kate Rheinstein Brodsky, which was just featured on One Kings Lane and previously appeared in ELLE DECOR in the May 2015. Kate is the owner of the stylish store, KRB and is the daughter of Los Angeles design doyenne, Suzanne Rheinstein, who owns the very chic shop, Hollyhock on La Cienega. It seems that style truly runs in the family!

Kate’s apartment is beautiful and while her style is distinctly her own, I couldn’t help but think of her mother when I saw her choice of fabrics, especially the Bob Collins chintz from Hollyhock on the sofa and chairs in the living room. I love the bold way in which Kate brought together very traditional elements in such a modern and striking way. This is the type of design that makes my heart sing. It is colorful, chic, and highly personal. I don’t know Kate at all, but I feel like her home really tells her story and gives me insight into what she might be like which is exactly what a room should do! KRB recently moved to a new location on the Upper East Side and it is on the top of my list of places to visit the next time I am in New York. I am also interviewing Kate for The Style Files soon, so stay tuned for more on this talent!KRB Foyer

  1. So many beautiful things about this home! The photography of the distinguished older man in between the windows, especially. Surprising and unusual art is my absolute favorite! And I’ll never tire of seeing paintings hung on bookcases, always beautiful and classic.

  2. You’re so right! I’ve toured her home before (on the interwebs), but I love the fresh view! I adore how she keeps everything from being too traditional, yet keeps that classic, curated feeling. Really fun and well-done.
