Texture + Patina

BD Jefferies

This morning, my design assistant, Devon and I are flying to Atlanta for a speaking engagement I have at the Atlanta Market. I’m looking forward to speaking on the panel (Blog to Brand: Harnessing the Intersection of Online Channels to Build Your Brand on Saturday, January 14th at 12:00 pm, Building 1, Floor 15, Designer Workspace, 15-D-11| Come say hello!) and to experiencing the Atlanta Market for the first time. Atlanta has such a great design scene and is home to so many talented designers and inspiring shops including B.D. Jeffries in Buckhead.

The home of B.D. Jeffries founders, Debbie and Brad Weitz is featured in the new issue of Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles and truly showcases their love of unique pieces, an authentic, relaxed sensibility, and appreciation for patina and age. One of the things that stands out most to me about their home is the use of texture both in the architectural finishes and furnishings in each space. As a result of working with designer, Eleanor Roeper, everything is beautifully arranged and it is obvious that each piece in this home has special meaning to the owners. While my own aesthetic is a bit more modern, I appreciate the fact that this lovely home exemplifies the fact that the most successful spaces are a reflection of the homeowner’s tastes and the things that mean the most to them.

  1. Good Morning Paloma – beautiful post as always!
I am unable to make Atlanta this week and I was wondering if you are videoing your talk? Or would share your speech? I am a soon-to be-ecommerce business and an avid follower of yours and would love to know your thoughts, ideas and advice. I will be adding a blog to the site and am quite intimidated to join in the mix.
Thank you and Best of luck in Atlanta!

  2. We just got back from Atlanta, I would have loved to hear your thoughts on branding and come say hello!
A lovely home, this one. I usually like more color but all these different textures and finishes make up for it somehow. Have a great trip!

  3. I echo everyone’s thoughts here – ADORE your blog & perspective & would LOVE to get a recap (video? slides? anything!) of your talk today. I just started a lifestyle blog on home design & real life – called Elegant Mayhem (www.ElegantMayhem.com) — and am looking for any tips I can get on how to build on this. Thanks for all your inspiration, Paloma!!

  4. Thank you, Paloma, for such a lovely post on the Weitz home! We are all so appreciative.! I love your blog and your work❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️‼️

  5. Just stunning! Could you provide the creamy paint color used. It’s exactly what I’d like for the new home we are building. Thank you kindly!
