Can you believe it’s the first Friday of 2017? I hope you each had a wonderful, restful holiday and that the new year is off to a great start for you! I honestly love this time of year. I have been making a conscientious effort to be in a positive mindset, see the good in each situation, and focus on my goals so far this year. The trick will be to maintain this perspective and energy throughout the year and not let it fizzle out! Here’s what is on my radar currently…
Design: Have you seen the stunning room by Alex Papachristidis on the cover of the January/February issue of Veranda? The space was part of last year’s Kip’s Bay Showhouse and is glamorous, beautiful, and memorable.
Style: I dress mainly in neutrals. For me, it’s classic, chic, and makes getting dressed each morning so much easier. If I had to put together an elaborate outfit everyday, I don’t know how much creative energy I’d have left for my design work and the blog! I’ve been talking about classic style quite a bit over the past two weeks (Who am I kidding? More like always!) Are you as big of a fan of winter neutrals as I am? In case you missed it, check out Camel and Cream, In the Mood: January 2017, and Classic Style: In Fashion and At Home.
Eat: Lunch is always a difficult meal for me. I usually have something light each morning and put most of my efforts into dinner. At lunch, I try to eat healthy, but also find it to be a bit of a distraction in the middle of work. Lately, I’ve been having smoothies for lunch, but with it being cold out, I am not enjoying them as much as usual. Food & Wine just published a great article with some Healthy Lunch Recipes I am looking forward to trying.
Listen: I listen to Channel 36 Alt Nation on SiriusXM quite a bit. They’ve been playing a new song called “Somebody Else” by The 1975 which I am loving. It’s sort of mellow, but super cool. Check it out here.
Watch: The Golden Globes are this Sunday. It’s my favorite awards show because the host is usually funny, you can tell the audience is having fun, and it sets the tone for the rest of awards season. I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is wearing on the red carpet this year as well as watching Jimmy Fallon host. He is so affable and charming that I am sure he will do a fabulous job!
Read: If you’re hoping to get on the path to self-improvement and personal growth this year, check out MyDomaine’s “7 Books that Will Put You in the Right Mindset for 2017“. I have already added a couple to my Amazon cart!
Shop: While we’re on the topic of classic style and neutral palettes, you can never go wrong with a chic blazer (Tory Burch Iliana Blazer) and timeless jewelry (Amber Sceats Ziggy Bracelet). Also, M.Gemi is having their amazing End of Season Sale for a few more days. It only happens twice a year and you can score fabulous deals on beautifully-made shoes including the lace-up Brezza flats shown above.
What’s on your radar this week? I’d love to hear. Have a wonderful weekend!
