A Sophisticated Family Home

My talented friends, Alyssa Kapito and Vivian Muller of the New York-based design firm, Kapito Muller just had this beautiful project featured on Architectural Digest’s website. I love their work because it is tailored, polished, and sophisticated, yet it feels completely fresh. The apartment is housed in a 1920s pre-war building on the Upper West Side and belongs to a young family of six. Originally consisting of two separate apartments, the home underwent a complete gut renovation for two years, after which the space was decorated from top to bottom. The home is dressed in a palette composed of mostly cream, gray, and camel, with a few carefully selected touches of color. There are so many special details in each space, from the sculptural coffee table in the living room and the beautiful aged brass fixtures in the kitchen to the herringbone floors and stunning mirror in the dining room. Isn’t this a truly chic home? Which space is your favorite?

Have a wonderful weekend!
