Boys Club

Melanie Turner Kitchen

When a newly single Atlanta man approached Melanie Turner and her team to design a house that represented a fresh start for he and his young song, she and associate Jill Tompkins rose to the challenge. Because her client already admired her aesthetic, he trusted her to have free reign with the design of the house. Turner and Tompkins agreed that the house shouldn’t feel like a typical bachelor pad, but more like a well-rounded, lively home. She and her client bonded over an appreciation of bold fabrics, including the tribal print by Raoul in the baby’s nursery which pays homage to his maternal South Africa. A relaxed approach includes an open living/dining concept, pops of color, and great art, including a few prized Picassos throughout.
