Country Chic

In yesterday’s post about the CFDA, I mentioned Edie Parker handbag and accessories designer, Brett Heyman. Brett’s chic Connecticut home was featured in the September issue of Architectural Digest last year. I loved it so much that I wrote a blog post about it. As I was sorting through my email last night, I came across Brett’s house again, this time featured on One Kings Lane’s fabulous Live Love Home blog. Brett turned to designer, Mark Cunningham to create a serene, comfortable weekend home that is as different from her New York apartment with its bright, lacquered walls and Andy Warhol prints as possible. Through a soothing color palette, a great mix of modern and traditional silhouettes, and striking abstract art, I’d say Cunningham certainly delivered. The house is wonderfully inviting and beautifully layered with rich textures, a lovely color palette, thoughtfully selected textiles, and striking art.

  1. LOVE……, Especially the first room with the dark walls…only room that felt bland was the bedroom….i can see why it caught your eye, Spectacular!

  2. Any idea on the name of the green color on the walls in the first picture? I’ve been seeing a lot of mossy green walls lately and I’m loving them but hardly anyone posts the names of a few good mossy green paint colors.
