Greetings from New Orleans!

FullSizeRender[1]

Hello from New Orleans! I have been here with Ashton, from my office since last Wednesday. We spent a few days installing the bedroom I designed for the Southern Style Now Showhouse and getting everything just so. Yesterday, the room was photographed for my website as well as by Traditional Home, the official media sponsor of the showhouse. It was a HUGE relief to finally have the room complete after months of planning and days of hard work installing. The finished space is absolutely breathtaking, if I do say so myself!

I am so grateful to my amazing partners who helped make my vision a reality. A HUGE thank you to deGournay for the most incredible custom wallpaper, Williams Sonoma Home for chic furnishings and accessories, Schumacher for exquisite fabrics, New Orleans artist Alexis Walter for beautiful art, New Orleans lighting designer Julie Neill for a gorgeous, custom chandelier, Circa Lighting for chic table lamps, and Woodard for the outdoor furniture on the terrace adjacent to our bedroom.

The showhouse is just the beginning of all the fun! The opening gala will take place on Wednesday and then beginning Thursday through Sunday, the Southern Style Now Festival will offer all kinds of fabulous and inspiring panel discussions, antiques tours, keynotes, and cocktail parties. If you will be in New Orleans this Friday, May 20th, be sure to come to the panel I am participating in called Southern Bloggers. Focusing on the legacy of Southern design, my counterparts Jamie Meares of I Suwanee, Coco of Cococozy, Toma Clark Haines of The Antiques Diva, and Vicki Bolick of Ace of Space, and I will offer advice and anecdotes on the world of design blogging. The panel will take place from 9:00 am – 10:15 am at artist Amanda Talley’s studio at 1382 Magazine Street. I hope to see you at the panel and please be sure to check out the showhouse! There are so many inspiring spaces that it is absolutely worth checking out!
