Serena & Lily is a favorite resource in the Paloma Contreras Design office. We frequently source their bedding, nursery goods, art (an amazing for affordable original art!), and some of their furniture for our clients. It has been amazing seeing the growth of Serena & Lily over the years of writing this blog. They have recently continued their brick and mortar retail expansion with the grand opening last Friday of their latest store in Westport, Connecticut. Housed in the historic Kemper-Gunn house, the entire three-story structure will be home to Serena & Lily Design Shop which will feature a showhouse style-layout, which is a completely new concept for the brand.
The 3,100 square foot Kemper-Gunn house was built in 1889 and was originally located several blocks away. For years, local preservationists fought to save it from the wrecking ball and moved it to the center of town, where many more people will now be able to enjoy it when they shop at Serena & Lily who worked diligently to preserve the beauty, character, and charm of the house. The Serena & Lily Design Shop will be home to an extensive swatch wall featuring more than 300 original Serena & Lily textile design, rotating art displays featuring more than 150 original works by new and established artists, as well as original art installations by Serena Dugan, an accomplished artist and textile designer.
If you don’t have plans to be in Westport anytime soon, fear not, I’ve rounded up some of my very favorite Serena & Lily must-have items!
