Fabulous Room 03.25.16

The weather in Houston has been pretty cool this week, though nowhere near as cold as Paris was last week. Naturally, it seems spring is arriving here first. Seeing the new leaves on our trees and flowers in bloom has made me so happy. I love seeing everything looking so verdant and vibrant. Have you noticed how the leaves on tree are a lighter, brighter shade of green when they first come in?

Because I have been in the mood for beautiful spring green, I haven’t stopped thinking about this beautiful entryway by Christopher Maya as featured in the April issue of House Beautiful. The space is filled with classic architectural details and furnishings, but the stunning deGournay wallpaper steals the show. It is the perfect shade of spring green and depicts a lovely chinoiserie scene with pretty birds and flowers. With Easter this weekend, I thought this glorious entry was just perfect! Have a wonderful weekend!

  1. Truly, THAT STAIRCASE, INDEED THE ENTIRE FOYER, IS THE HOUSE EQUIVALENT OF GISELE BUNDCHEN–IT WOULD BE BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT. Be that as it may, I DO LIKE THE GREEN!

  2. My husband and I were at the de Gournay showroom this week ordering a pair of framed panels. Even a tiny bit adds magic to a room, I can’t even imagine what it would feel to have an entire foyer done in de Gournay. Just beautiful!
