Currently Obsessed: Katie Ermilio Fall 2016

Katie Ermilio Fall 16-11

One of my favorite Fall 2016 collections so far is by designer Katie Ermilio. Known for classic evening wear executed through a modern lens, her collection this season certainly does not disappoint. While some may argue that there isn’t anything super groundbreaking in this collection, it is chic, elegant, and timeless, which in my opinion, is exactly the way I want to dress. The silhouettes are all classic in a modern, sophisticated palette of ivory, black, white, navy, and camel. These are the types of clothes that I like best because they are effortless and beautiful. This collection would have been stunning 10, 20, 30, even 40 years ago, yet it feels completely fresh today and is sure to stand the test of time in the future. I was also struck by how beautifully the models are styled. The colors in the setting paired with the colors of the clothes are just beautiful together. The photographs remind me of gorgeous portraits– maybe of a more polished, less aloof version of Margot Tenenbaum in a yet-to-be-created Wes Anderson film. Are you getting that vibe, too? Which collections are you loving so far?

  1. These are beautiful! They remind me of The Time In Between (on netflix– it’s a Spanish show and a best selling book in Europe right now) about a seamstress around the Spanish Revolution and WWII. I’m especially loving that white dress with the fur shawl.
I loved Tory Burch’s collection yesterday, and can’t wait to see Ralph Lauren tomorrow!!
