Happy New Year! I hope 2016 is off to a great start for you. Fabian and I had a wonderful time in Napa in spite of the fact that we have both been really sick. I had an awful sinus infection before the trip that came back in full force and still hasn’t subsided. On top of that, we had all kinds of travel issues, but thankfully, we were together and we made it back home on Friday in time to get some rest at home.
While writing my “In the Mood” post for January last week, I came across the beautiful and classic work of the architecture firm, Sawyer Berson. Each of the homes in their portfolio is timeless and inspiring, but I was especially drawn to their Georgica Pond project. The classic lines and combination of white house with blue shutters and clapboard siding are the embodiment of East Hampton style. Upon seeing the interiors, I realized I had seen this home years ago. I am almost positive the interiors were designed by Steven Gambrel and the house was published in ELLE DECOR, but please correct me if I am wrong. Each room showcases Steven’s signature aesthetic– polished and masculine, yet effortless and inviting. There are so many details to love.
While this beautiful home was most likely captured for these photographs in the summer– and I can certainly imagine how glorious it must be during the warmer months, I can’t help but imagine it would be a lovely winter retreat as well. Picture the grounds covered in snow with a toasty fire roaring away inside. Wouldn’t it be lovely?
