Napa Valley Style: Meadowood

We are heading to Napa Valley today for a week of fun and relaxation to close out 2015 and welcome 2016. In the past, we have stayed at Solage and Auberge du Soleil, both of which we love and are fantastic for their own unique set of reasons. This time around, we found a good deal at Meadowood through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts since this was a last minute trip that I planned in 24 hours time about two weeks ago. We have been on the property before, but have never stayed there. Fabian is particularly excited about our stay because of the beautiful, wooded estate complete with a golf course and croquet lawn. I am looking forward to the the quintessential Napa Valley architecture by Howard Backen and the beautiful, new spa. I envision starting each day with a hike and some relaxation before heading into town for lunch and some wine tasting, of course.

Meadowood originated as a country club in 1964. It eventually opened its doors to overnight guests in 1979 and has come to be regarded as one of the top hotels in Napa Valley as well as in the world. Composed of 85 cottages, the resort is known for its vast, secluded setting just off the Silverado Trail, a cozy ambiance, and gracious staff. I can’t wait to settle in and experience it all for myself. In the meantime, be sure to follow our Napa Trip on Instagram!
